Rumors suggest that Apple plans to launch a cheap 9.7-inch iPad by 2018. This has been revealed by a report published in Digitimes, which says sources from suppliers related to the Cupertino company say the movement has no other purpose that of boosting sales.
Last March, the arrival of the new iPad 9.7 2017 caught us all by surprise. Instead of making the typical presentation event that we are used to, Apple announced its new tablet through a press release, something that was quite strange in the sector. This time the product itself did not have features to brag about, since as we explained in our analysis of the iPad 9.7 (2017) does not show enough draft improvements compared to the iPad Air 2.
What is really interesting about the new tablet that Apple introduced at the beginning of the year is the price. The Cupertino company launched the device to market from 399 euros for the most basic version, about 300 euros cheaper than its predecessor, the iPad Air 2. With this move they wanted to stimulate sales, since it was accused of an accumulated decrease in demand.

According to the Digitimes report, the US corporation will continue with its strategy of lowering the price and for the next year it plans to launch a cheap iPad 9.7 to the market. Sources estimate that it would cost about $ 259 and is expected to be a magnet for consumers who like to buy at low prices. Its commercialization could help Apple maintain sales as at present, in about 10 million units each quarter.
